"DVD Rom CDD4801/72 Driver" + Windows XP

I am having a problem with cursor freezing randomly and
unfreezing randomly. I know it is caused by my DVD
because if I remove power to the drive the system works
fine. Compaq 7RPM11 desktop. I am guessing a new Windows
XP driver might correct the problem. Any suggestion would
help. I checked every web site I know.
