Any highend card purchased from nVidia or ATI today should be DX 10
compliant.

There is NO DX10 compliant card today. They are "compatible" the same
way a old GeForce ti4200 is compatible with DX9, but they won't support
any of the new DX10 features, such as shader model 4, geometric shaders
and so on. The first DX10 compliant chipsets will be Ati R600 and Nvidia
G80, both expected after this summer.

You'll be fine with every decent SM2 card. Radeon 9500 and above,
GeFroce 6200 and above. You shuld be ok also with GeForce FX series, but
I won't suggest 'em anyway.

Don't think those card can do hardware rendering using DX10

Currently using Radeon 9550 and not able to do hardware rendering.
I asked before in the DX Beta newsgroups how to do hardware rendering and
the answer was simple:

U cant, non of the current harware will ever be able to do it.
