| copied from the installation forum. perhaps someone knows here. I have since booted in safe mode on my old XP system and seen the hidden built in Administrator acccount I never new existed. Is that the extra account that Easy Transfer made and has it messed up my system? Anything I can do about it short of doing a reinstall and not using Easy Transfer? Subject: Easy Transfer extra Administrator account 9/17/2007 7:59 PM PST By: puzzledinmn In: microsoft.public.windows.vista.installation_setup When I used Easy Transfer everything went well except the transfer program created an extra account for Administrator that I could not use my name for so I called it admin. I was the sole administrative user on XP and do not want that extra account. I took a class and the consultant told me that account was a XP system account and the only way to fix it was to reinstall and not use Easy Transfer next time. Is he right about that extra Administrator account? Is it really different from an ordinary Vista one that I could just delete? The only thing I could find associated with it on Vista were two duplicate program shortcuts. | Guest
