Easy Way to get/set Computername, Workgroup and domain

Posted: 09-20-2004, 11:43 AM
Can someone tell me an easy way to get/set Computername, Workgroup and domain
for an XPe operating system?
I know that I can use Get/SetComputerName API call (or find and modify it in
the registry), for the comp name, is this right?
But how about Workgroup and domain?
Thanks in advance.

If you are talking about XP Embedded, you can set all this in Target
Designer.

For computername and workgroup settings, go to HAL component (e.g. Standard
PC) in your configuration. If you check this component settings->System
Identification - you will find out computer name and workgroup setting.

For domainname, check settings of "Windows Logon" component (Default Domain
Name).

Hi,

Actually you problem falls more in other NG although you intend to use your program on XPe.

Best regards,
