Elo Serial Touchscreen

Posted: 09-09-2004, 04:01 PM
There are several components on xpefiles.com for the Elotouch serial
touchscreen. I can't seem to get any of them to work, and I get errors when
I try to run the installer on the XPPro emulation build. One of the drivers
seems to do absolutely nothing (though the control panel is present, the bit
where you select the com port is missing) the other two just beep but do not
cause any sort of mouse action.
Does anyone have any suggestions of how to sort this one out?

Elo has a componentized serial touch screen driver for XPe:
http://www.elotouch.com/support/dnld...ndows_embedded

You have to download and launch the setup executable in order to extract the
component. I haven't used this component, so I don't know how well it works.
Good luck!

yeah, i've been using the ELO "entuitive" serial touch (and their USB
touch) for quite a while just using the Serial SLD from the ELO site.
The version of the component i have been using is rev 100 dated
5/23/2003. Their dev team has been very responsive to me in the past
when i've had suggestions as well so the experience with this HW has
been very favorable.

OK I've tracked down the exact problem with this component.

The driver I componentised, and at least one of the ones on XPefiles.com,
have a section on the 'General' tab of the Elo control panel in which you
can set the serial port to use. These are the drivers which just go 'beep'.
This is not present on the driver from Elo's site. This is because
*drumroll* it's not supposed to have, it's set to use COM2. I assume this is
something Elo had to do in order to get it to work on XPe. I had it on COM1,
hence not working. The fact that it's using COM2 is there for all to see on
the diagnostics tab, but did I think to look there, oh no. *bangs head on
desk*.
