Email notification not working

Hello
I hope this wasen't asked too often before, but I oculdn't find an answer to
this.
I am using MSN6 on WinXP Pro, all used to be well but not, at the top where
I used to have new email notification things are not working right.
If I recieve an email while I am not logged on I will not get a notice of
new email when I do logon, and if I am logged on I do recieve a notice, but
do not check the email, the next time I logon the notice is gone.
How can I fix this to always have a notice as long as there is new email on
my hotmail account ?

If anyone will be able to help me, here are some things I tried to no avail:
- uninstall/reinstall of MSN 6
- uninstall/registry clean up/install
- IE coockies and temp files deletion
-deletion of Passport account from user account

The message count does appear under my account name in the WinXP logon
screen and my email program is OE.
If I log using a diferent account,using the same MSN 6, same computer, all
the email alerts works well and new email count is retained between
sessions. Why is it not working on my main account? All the settings are the
exact same for both accounts, starting to pull my hair out, can anyone
please help?? please!!

Email notification not working

I am not recieving pop up notification when i get emails and the sam
number of email remains on the envelope at the
>top of the screen it works for another account I have which is a hotmail account but not with my msn account I have unistalled and reinstalled all the boxes are checked in the generel tabs menu its all correct because it does work just not for my account and my Moms who also has a msn account i tryed to find the INI file but it is missing and I did show all folders I also removed msn dellnet and reinstalled it but nothing any ideas guys.Thanks Jamie Friel

I have the same problem. Looking through history I see
many other also have this problem but no one points to a
fix. I would be glad to directly discuss this problem
with someone at microsoft and share my system config to
help figure out how to fix it. This is a big pain!!

I am having that problem. My one hotmail account works
fine, however my other hotmail account has the same no
notification problem.

Sounds like it could be a problem with our accounts and
not so much MSN. Cause on the same comp with the same
MSN, my one account works, and the other doesn't.

Would really like this to get cleared up.

Email notification not working

I, too, am having the same problem with my email
notifications not resetting. I have been trying to two
weeks now to get it resolved through MSN support with no
luck. Now they have referred me to here. Hope someone
has an answer to this problem.
