Embed a TrueType font in a Word doc?

I know that in Windows Word, you can embed a TrueType font in your
document (go to Tools > Options > click the Save tab and check Embed
TrueType fonts).

I can't seem to find a way to do this in Word 2004 for Mac (thre's no
"Options" item on the Tools menu, and I don't see an equivalent
function elsewhere i.e. in the Prefs).

Am I just not finding the right button to press, or is this ability to
embed a TrueType font in your doc just a Windows-only thing?

Mac OS X 10.3.7
Word 2004 for Mac.

Thanks!!

AFAIK, it's a windows only thing. Rethink your approach.

Michael is correct: Word does not support font embedding on the Mac.

Adobe Acrobat DOES support font embedding if you set your options correctly.
This may do what you want, so long as you remember that the recipient will
not be able to use your document for anything other than printing.

Note that many True Type fonts these days do not permit themselves to be
embedded. The font foundries would prefer that your recipient buy a new
copy :-) You need to check that the ones you want to embed actually permit
that.

Cheers
