emm386.exe on XP

Posted: 12-17-2003, 06:18 AM
I have a small DOS based program that was written for me
by a local programmer. It makes use of a Microsoft file
called emm386.exe. I used Windows 98 2nd edition and this
worked well.

I have now installed Windows XP, and the programme does
not want to work. It comes up with a message "No EMS
driver is installed". I need to use more memmory to get
the small (2mb) programme to operate.

What can I do with XP to activate the equavalent to
emm386.exe, and which gives a DOS programme access to
memeory in the PC above 1MB

I would appreciate any help in solving this problem, as
it seems that Microsoft SA dont have answers, or are too
inexperienced with this.

Kind regards
