Erasing DVD+RW Problems

I'm not sure this is the right forum but was hoping to get some help with a
problem I'm having with an HP dvd200i DVD writer. I'm trying to erase
DVD+RW disks so that I can reuse them but the HP Record Now program doesn't
seem to be doing it corrently/completely. When I try to reuse them, I keep
getting error messages that that there is still data on the disk. Does
anyone know of a free or cheap program that will REALLY erase the RW disk so
that programs like Norton Ghost will see a clean disk? Thanks for the help.
