| Hi, My usb mouse sometimes stops working in between; a prompt (also sometimes) appears that windows was unable to recognise the usb device. I am using a Toshiba 4010 laptop with windows xp installed. Any help greatly appreciated. Regards | Guest

| Do you have more then one usb port on your laptop? If so, try moving it to the other port and see if the same symptoms follow. Also does the mouse have a ball? Take it apart and try cleaning if it does. If none of these options work, trying going into the device properties and delete the mouse, reboot and let the system detect and install the drivers again. Hope this helps. Quote:
