1.) Similiar problem here - Windows Vista Ultimate to Windows XP Pro
copying.
Trying to copy several files about 700mb each (2.67GB).
Windows XP Pro machine had low resources error, so rebooted into safe mode
with networking and had no problems copying files.
Maybe the swap file is too small on the Windows XP machine for copying files
in Vista? and Running in safe mode free's up memory and resources!
My Windows XP Pro swap file is set to 384min/768MBmax with 320MB RAM.

2.) I previously posted on this subject, I too have this problem and after
reading the latest posts I too have CA software installed...
"Internet Security Suite 2008 plus" to all three of my computers.
My Computers...
Windows Vista Ultimate PC,
Windows XP Pro PC
Windows XP Home Notebook.
I will contact CA here in Australia to see what they can do and keep you
posted.

After reading uyour post, you have reminded me that I too are using a USB2.0
320GB HDD on 2nd computer running WindowsXP Pro which I am trying to backup
to from a Windows Vista Ultimate computer.

Notes:
a.) I had only a few minor corruption issues only due to computer locking up
and having to pull the power plug to reboot.
b.) I have no quota's set on any computer.
c.) I'm using GoodSync to backup files to the other drive (Excellent
software).
Contacted GoodSync and their saying their software just uses the built in
API in Windows. So in other words it's a Windows OS problem or problem with
something in Windows.
