error 1402

Posted: 02-05-2007, 05:11 PM
I posted this message in another Vista newsgroup and received no responses.
I'm getting an error 1402 when I try and install Office 2003 [on a clean
install]. Seems I can't open the registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run\OptionalComponents\MSFS.
Verify that you have sufficient permission....
I do have permission. I am the only user, administrator, yada, yada, yada.

What do I have to do to change the permissions. I've already changed the
"allow" under permissions [when delving into the registry].
