Try burning the ISO again and check its intergrity:
NERO
Insert a Blank DVD, open Nero Start Smart > change the media type to DVD >
select Copy and Backup > click "Burn Image to Disc" > navigate to where the
Windows Vista BETA 2 Image is stored on your hard disk, (note: if you don't
see it, make sure the image file type is changed to "ISO" click Open and the
burning wizard will automatically start.

Roxio
Open Creator Classic > click File > "Record Disc from Image" > navigate to
where the Windows Vista BETA 2 Image is stored > click Open and the burning
wizard will automatically start.

Ensure that the ISO burns at a low speed, recommended speed, 2x for best
results.

Windows Vista BETA 2 Ultimate Edition MD5 and CRC Values Information:
x86
- File Size = 3.12 GB (3,355,598,848 bytes)
- CRC Value = 0x67E089E0
- MD5 Value = 0E733AB1A8E8FF9A8684FD3639332773

x64
- File Size = 4.01 GB (4,309,368,832 bytes)
- CRC Value = 0x48697711
- MD5 Value = E43502D0A15EADD551119D5639859E04

I use the Ahead NERO MD5 Verifier:
http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/eng/Nero_MD5_Verifier.html

Paste the MD5 Checksum for either x64 or x86 depending on which one you want
to
check in Step 1, Step 2 - Browse to where you stored the ISO on your drive
and open it and it will automatically start the verification process and
generate the result in the third field, if it matches Step 1, then you are
safe.

If setup still fails, try another computer or wait until another build is
made available (RC1) for testing.

ERROR 80070214
Posted: 07-31-2006, 03:31 AM
I'm trying to install Vista from CD bought from MS. First try I got a
graphics error while expading files. Now I don't get files all loaded to
expand. I get the error 80070241. Nurmerous tries have resulted in the same
error. I'm doing a clean install on a newly built computer P4 3.0 1Gig ram
120Gig drive with Abit MB. What gives?

If you do have a RAID configuration it would be appropriate to state it.

One solution for this error is here:

http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/...7579&SiteID=17

Another tac would be to test the DVD that MSFT sent you, since they are
concerned enough to question them by asking people to test them via the CRC
tool that they conveninetly buried on a Win FS site. If you have a
defective DVD via the tool, then simply write or call them and ask them to
send you another one since downloading the ISO from MSFT is not possible at
this time. You could also go after one somewhere on the web.

To test the ISO they sent you:

Download the CRC utility. To run the CRC test, open a command prompt and
run the utility. providing itthe name of the file (i.e. crc
c:\6.0.5383.1.1.WindowsSDK_Vista_idw.DVD.Rel.img) The CRC utility will run
two tests on the ISO: it will verify if the ISO is valid, and it will give
the AutoCRC signature for the file. The AutoCRC signature for the Windows
SDK Beta 2 ISO is 0x28434EEF. You should also confirm the size of the ISO is
correct: 1.14 GB (1,229,355,008 bytes).

If it fails any of these three tests, re-download the ISO.

I really like the direct link to it though if you right click CRC here>left
click Properties:
http://tacobell.iexbeta.com/longhorn/crc.exe
