error code 38

windows does not detect my digtal camera(hp-318 model)
and displays this message: "windows cannot load device
driver because a previous instance of the device driver
is still in memeory-code 38." what/how do i clear up
this and get the device recognized to unload camera so
can reuse? help quick need camera for trip to orlando on
mondat 4/19/04!!!!!!!!!!!!!
