Error fixed in RC1

Posted: 08-05-2006, 06:34 PM
When I turned on my computer this morning, it told me that an error I had
reported (or my computer reported for me... ) has been fixed in RC1.

You can find the screenshot here:

Sounds like progress to me! Except it looks like they made a typo on that
message... notice the space missing in the sentence:
"Install Windows VistaRelease Candidate 1 (RC1)...."

Oh well, I reported it already.

A similar thing is happening when I use SharePoint designer. I found a way to
crash it (make a layer, move it around, then try to change the alignment from
center to left aligned, it crashes), but every time it does, it says the
"Error fixed in upcoming 2007 Microsoft Office System Beta build"

Sounds good too

What looks really good is the styling and specificity of the message. I am
seeing new tools concerning repair and reporting popping up that I did not
think would have been available yet.

I got a Vista Flash Drive wizard to repair my usb flash drive when I
inserted into my 5472 machine yesterday. I thought something was wrong with
it (corrupted files) and sure enough Vista knew all about it and fixed it.
Vista is getting to be more fun and non-threatening with each build.

I've gotten this message too and I don't think it contains 'important
information'. I've checked my Problem History, there are 8 or more problems
shown with 'No Solutions' and 4 are listed with Solution found. I only know
of 1 problem that is fixed & it was with IE.

I cannot tell from my Error report, which is idential to firth's, which
problem shown in Problem History this RC1 is supposed to fix. My sound
does not work in vista on this laptop so I don't know if this RC1 will fix
THAT or something else.

Thanks for any help..........katy
