Error From Microsoft's Boot Disk #3 -"halaacpi.dll could not be loaded Error 7"

Posted: 10-30-2003, 04:07 AM
I partioned HD and installed Linux. Somehow Grub (from
Linux) overwrote the master boot record, so Windows XP
Home edition cannot be installed. I downloaded
Microsoft's boot disks for XP Home Edition Service Pack I
from the Internet using another computer. While reading
these disks (on my partioned computer), it stopped on the
3rd disk with the error message: "halaacpi.dll could not
be loaded Error 7". I tried it again, same message. I
recreated the boot disks and tried it again and it
stopped with the same message on the 3rd disk. Is this
an error with MS's download file? What can I do now? I
cannot access Windows at all neither can I install it.
How can I create a boot disk? Thank you in advance!
