Error in avi file after copying

Posted: 03-16-2005, 06:01 PM
I installed a new harddisk to use for home video editing, but Pinnacle Studio
was not able to use the captured video. If I opened the captured avi files in
Media Player they were playable but the screen was just garbage. If I
captured to my old harddisk everything was working fine. If I copied a
vorking avi file from the old disk to the new it was the same.

I suspected that there was a fault on the new disk, but I have tried to copy
a lot of data files to the new disk. A 4GB archive was copied without error,
and I have also installed programs which is working fine. The error checker
in Explorer don't detect any errors.

The disk appears to work perfect, but avi files somehow get corrupted when
saved on the new disk. Does someone have an idea what can cause this?
