error launching word doc from windows explorer

Help!!

I have OEM installed word 2002 and when I double-click on
a doc in windows explorer the system trys to re-install
word. when it fails (because I don't put the disks in)
then word starts but does not try to pull up the document.

I copied folder winword from root to /programfiles/ but
that did not help.
