Error loading!!

I have a windows xp home edition computer. The problem i have is when i
first started up, it takes forever to reach the desktop. When it gets there,
a message comes up that says: Error loading EGCOMLIB_1034.dll The specified
module could not be found, as well when i want to shut the computer off, It
won't shut off the first time, only on the second try that it will shut off.
Also while i'm writing this, the letters don't show up on the screen until a
few seconds later. Can you please help me out with this problem. thank you

the error.
