| Hi Jimmy, I did some investigation of this error code and here's what the error ID is. DIERR_DEVICENOTREG Basically, the device you are trying to use is not registered as being available in the system. Does your sound card work for playback? Could be the input device alone that's in error. You can check what your voice playback device is in the control panel: Click Start, Control Panel Click Sounds, Speech and Audio in Category View then Sounds and Audio Devices OR Double-Click Sounds and Audio Devices in Classic View In the Sound and Audio Device Properties, click the Voice tab. Make sure the correct default devices are set for your Voice playback and Voice recording. If the Default device is blank (as Voice Recording is on my Sound Blaster Audigy), you will need to refer to the hardware vendor's manual and help files to set the recording device. If none of that works, on to the next step... It sounds like you've already been through the process of getting the latest sound card drivers for your system. The next step I'd take is to download the latest version of DirectX. You can do this by going to Windows Update. After installing the latest version DirectX, try setting up your audio again. I hope that helps! -- Lance Zielinski Microsoft Corporation This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. ================================================== === When responding to posts, please "Reply to Group" via your newsreader so that others may learn and benefit from your issue. ================================================== === "Jimmy" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:568201c3e4f5$332f8aa0$a601280a@phx.gbl...
