| When I turn on my computer and all the icons come up on the screen, it gives me a Runner Error: Invalid BackWeb application i.d. 7288971 I click OK and it goes away. Does anyone know what this error means and what can I do about it? Thanks. JP | Guest

Start > Run > type in "msconfig" (without quotes) press <Enter> System Configuration Utility should be in "Normal Startup" If it is not in Normal, put it in Normal and click "Apply" at the bottom. Then click on the Startup tab at the top right In that list, do you see something called "Kodak Updater" ? If so, make note of its location It should be one of these: 1. Common Startup 2. HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run 3. HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run Click "Close" at the bottom Click Restart and let the system restart once If Kodak Updater is located in Common Startup, Then click on Start > right click My Computer and click on Explore Expand to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup folder. You can either delete Kodak Updater from that Startup folder or create a Startno folder within the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs folder and move the Kodak Updater into that Startno folder. If Kodak Updater is loading from the Registry - IMPORTANT: This article contains information about modifying the registry. Before you modify the registry, make sure to back it up and make sure that you understand how to restore the registry if a problem occurs. For information about how to back up, restore, and edit the registry, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: Description of the Microsoft Windows Registry http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;EN-US;256986 Start > Run > type in "regedit" (without quotes) Expand to either HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run or HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run depending on the information you gathered previously from System Configuration Utility Once you have opened that Run key, you can either delete Kodak Updater and confirm its deletion and then close the Registry and restart the computer or you could double click on Kodak Updater and insert a semi colon ( in front of the text inthe Value Data window and then click OK and then close the Registry and restart the computer. If it is not Kodak Updater that is generating the Error message, then you will need to troubleshoot by using MSCONFIG and unchecking items in the Startup tab and restarting untill you have identified the item that is causing the problem and put MSCONFIG back to Normal and follow the above procedure for whatever Startup item is causing the issue. HTH and please post back with Results By the way, if you do back up the Registry or a key in the Registry before making any changes in the Registry and everything works out OK, then you will want to delete that backup so that you or someone else does not accidentally restore that backup and bring the issue back along with it. ================================================ | Guest
