error message when trying to correct printer

Can anyone tell me how I can connect a network printer to a Vista laptop, no
matter which way I go it always falls at the end with the following error
message.

[Window Title]
Connect to Printer

[Main Instruction]
Windows cannot connect to the printer. Operation could not be completed
(error 0x0000046a).

What do you receive if using net view \\vistaname command?

Thanks Bob, foregive me, but I do not understand the question! Do you know
what the error code i am getting indicates?

error. from the system errors, we may know what's the problem. Or this
