Error "The Line is Busy" when sending faxes

Posted: 01-27-2004, 02:59 PM
Hi

I have a problem sending faxes.

In fax monitor it begins the process, the receiving fax
rings twice then it hangs up and displays the message "The
Line is Busy". This will happen with any number. On
occasion when the machine is rebooted it will send the 1st
fax in the que, then the rest will give the same errors.

Can any body shed some light on this

Regards

Drew

Which Fax software/system are you using? Are you connected to a Phone line?
Are you using an analog fax capable modem? Or DSL with a filter?

I am using winXP fax services.
I have installed this on numerous other XP machines and it
works perfectly.

Yes I am connected to the phone line, and am able to dial
out using phone dialer. It also receives faxes no problem.

The modem is an "Intel 536EP V.92". The next step I was
going to try was to change the modem.

It is connected an anolog line.

Thanks. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the software. Might be
corrupted for some unknown reason.
Cheers
