Error: Windows - Virtual Memory Minimum Too Low

recently bought a scanner. However, after installing it I
get the above error message displayed as a heading and the
following "Your system is low on virtual memory. Windows
is increasing the size of your virtual memory paging file.
During this process, memory requests for some applications
may be denied." after it in a pop up. Therafter my
programme is closed. How do I fix this?
