Hi

we have got a workgroup with XP pro machines, is there any
way i can log the events of all the machines (log on and
log off) or are there any third party software available

any help would be appreciated

I have an acquaintance who develops software to do this
and many similar tasks. Take a look at:
http://www.epsod.com the program etaps has the
functionality you are looking for.

Take a look at
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/tre...andard/515.asp
for more information on how to do logon event auditing... The article
is for Windows 2003, but applies for XP and Win2K...

You set this via Group Policy (gpedit.msc).
