behind a LINUX Redhat 9 firewall server to the internet.
one client pc 512mb ram 2gb Hz celeron with dual boot
winxp pro/ linux on two 80 gb disc acts badly in all of
the 5 log-on ID's, slow start , sometimes hangs on local
isdn internet or outlook XP Pro hangs or won't release
from the bottom bar and Start freezes for an age -
several minutes Event viewr shows ERRORS: application
hang (101) event 1001 , or MsiInstaller hang event 11328
or commonly Ci CI SERVICE hangs event 4126 / 4124.
I have stripped out software , reinstalled and repaired
XP , repaired IE6 somewhat, repaired all office XP pro
modules and still the damn thing acts like a P3 on
sleeping tablets.
The MS KB does not offer much by way of clues... anyone
with similar or part of the same probs , and any idea how
to sort it [ beside switching entirely to LINUX ... later
