| Whenever I'm trying to open the event viewer the following error appears: ---------------------- MMC could not create the snap-in. The snap-in might not have been installed correctly Name: Event Viewer CLSID:FX:{b05566ad-fe9c-4363-be05-7a4cbb7cb510} ------------------------ I also tried to create a new MMC console and ad the Event Viewer snap-in there but another error poped up --------------------- MMC cannot initialize the snap-in. Name: Event viewer CLSID: FX:.............. (as previous) --------------------- Any ideas ? Can I reinstall somehow the add-in ? | Guest

| Yep, I have the same problem ........and "windows search" doesn't work properly....it hangs.....windows sevices report this as not running though set to auto. When I attempt a manual start, it returns error code 5 - access denied. ........and the "rename" command hangs. This all happened after I installed Nero 7 Essentials. Could there be a link here....or co-incidence? Comments invited. Thanks -- tbird650 | Guest

| H I fixed some of the problems by disabling "windows search" Go to Control panel>Classic view>Administrative tools>services Set "windows search" to "disable". May need reboot I think that's what/how I did.....let me know how it goes -- tbird650 | Guest
