Did you not read this on the download site? Note: This is beta code and should not be used in a production environment or on a main machine in the home. Beta 2 is intended for developers, IT professionals and technology experts to continue or begin their testing of Windows Vista. Before you decide to use Beta 2, you should feel comfortable with installing operating systems, updating drivers, and general PC troubleshooting. Some risks of using beta operating systems include hardware and software incompatibility and system instability. If you have concerns about installing this beta software on your computer, we encourage you to obtain the final release version of Windows Vista when it is available in 2007. | Guest

understand the concept of Beta software? The whole idea of beta software is to find bugs before the software is released for sale. If you found some bugs you should report them. There is a tool on the desktop for this purpose. If all the Beta users do this there will be less bugs in the final product. Maybe you won't have to buy that Apple if you report the bugs, although I must admit the new Macs are pretty nice. Once the software catches up to the switch to Intel I might buy one myself. -- Kerry MS-MVP Windows - Shell/User | Guest

| I suspect an uproar from all the media when vista gets released.. they are keeping it somewhat quiet now (well not that quiet) but once they release it, it will be shredded to pieces by the people who know what real computing is. | Oh I forgot to say that they are not shredding it to pieces NOW is because the excuse is from everyone "its still beta, its still beta" as if there will be a miracle in the RTM... They dont have much interest in changing it a lot, they are focusing on bugs now... so you can understand what will be introduced the public... oh.. not everyone can understand... I mean some can understand... well.....kinda.... "John Jay Smith" <-> wrote in message news:%23gINKm%23iGHA.4040@TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... Quote:

have a pretty good knowledge and experience of computers going back to the PDP-11, CP/M, Pet etc. Vista has it's problems but overall looks pretty good for a Beta product. It's more stable than the Windows 95 pre RC1 (aka Chicago) builds were. -- Kerry MS-MVP Windows - Shell/User | Guest
