EWF on CF as IDE-0 (secondary) boot problem

Posted: 08-12-2007, 03:41 PM
Hi,
I have Sandisk CF (removable) card
sitting on IDE-0 Secondary slot, formated as NTFS with single
partition
with ARC path:
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)...
(e.g. secondary drive, first partition)
and adressed as drive C:
and EWF protection for this single CF partition (turned off on start -
i will enable it later)

I made the CF this way:
1) fdisk and bootprep from target pc in dos
2) convert fs:NTFS from winxp
I've also tried to use HD instead with the same problem...

no additional drives present

IDE-0 primary: none
IDE-0 secondary: CF NTFS single partition (also tried with NTFSed hard
disk)
IDE-1 primary: none
IDE-1 secondary: none

I recieve the
"Windows could not start because of a computer disk hardware
configuration problem"

I've tried to search everywhere for couple of days by now with no
success.
please... help...

In addition to the problem:

I've tried to run a simple build (without EWF)
with the same ARC path [multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)...]
from HD (with ntfs) with single partition and mounted on IDE-0
secondary (eg. Master Secondary)
and still got the same "disk hardware configuration problem" messege.

1. If I run this image from primary master (with
rdisk(0)partition(1) ) it works fine
2. I've checked that I have "Secondary IDE Channel" component
installed
3. I'm changing the ARC path in the TD and not directly in boot.ini -
so no problems should appear... theoreticaly...

Any ideas?

The ARC path should be rdisk(0)partition(1) in this instance. There is only
one drive in the system so rdisk has to be 0.

Please note that using a slave disk (no master) and trying to use HORM,
fails when resume from Standby.
