Have you tried adding the "links" to the task bar?
RightClick empty area of Taskbar -> Toolbars -> (x)Links.
Real neat feature and no need to open start menu!
I just might keep it on myself.

See "Start/Configuration/Taskbar and startmenu" (translated from German
version, I'm not sure whether it is alright, but search in start menu for
configuration of taskbar and start menu).

Then select tabsheet "start menu", where you click the button (s.th. like
configuration in German). There you can select your feature (s.th. like
"open control panel").

Hello ,

Would you prefer to use the Classic Start Menu?

Right-click [Start]
| Properties |
/Start Menu\
(*) "Classic Start Menu"
[OK]

Then to customize...

1 - For the "current user" entries in the start menu,
Right-click [Start] | Explore |

2 - For the "all users" entries in the start menu,
Right-click [Start] | Explore All Users |

3 - Arrange as required.

Jan
