Default Expiration? That's not very nice...

Not wanting to start a huge chain of griping, but it's worth mentioning...
Look, I'm going to enjoy doing the beta test on Vista (my wife always says
I'm a geek). It would seem that for our efforts, for our willingness to be
an early adapter of a new product, that would be worth something. Now I
appreciate that MSFT isn't in the business of giving away free software.
But, the early buzz is that Vista isn't different enough for the average user
to switch from XP. It would seem that getting us beta testers enthusiastic
would serve to help hype the product.

Anyhow... Will still enjoy the opportunity to beta test, but it would be
nice if I got just a little something for my efforts....

It would not only be nice but it would be a miracle.

They are giving you something, a FREE OS for a year, probably even longer
sine the RC1 version has been promised.

99.9% of the people who downloaded the software will not even report a bug,
therefore not beta testing the OS. I would not be surprised if
they(individual MS program managers, beta testers, marketing folks, etc) do
give away many copies of the OS to people who actually report bugs, offer
suggestions, etc.

The percentage is better than that. The bug counter is at 120,000 reports.
