extending the basic disk into a deleted partition

Posted: 07-01-2003, 01:01 AM
I am running XP Pro on am IBM thinkpad. th eoriginal setup
had a large 23G partition created by BootMagic which was
running WIn 98SE.
The partition was deleted and in Computer Mgmt it shows
Disk0 Basic 37.25GB, Drive C: layout partition
basic,NTFS,12.69GB,healthy,system; IBM SERVICE partition
975MB FAT32, healthy unknown partition, then in the next
box 23.61 GB unallocated.
I tried the diskpart extend command unsuccessfully.
If I do an F11 system restore on this machine will XP
automatically claim that 23.6GB and add it on to Drive C ?
or is ther another less painful waty to claim this space
back?
Thank you for your help
