Need help please

Hello, people i am posting this thread for a problem i have been having
This morning i went to listen to some music on my external hard driv
and it is not working
this is the first time it has stopped working and i am not sure what t
do i thought i would post this thread and find out some info
I am not sure what is going on i do not know if it is broken o
anything but i plug the external into both the usb ports and stil
nothing
it may be that windows vista is not reading but if you guys kno
anything or know something i should even try please do as this is ver
important to me as it contains very important info

Hi guys
im new to this sit
i have a sys with
intel 965 board
4gb ram
two hdds of 500 gb and 160 gb
i was using vista 32 bit vista cracked demo version since mar '08 wit
160 gb hdd i didnt face any prob
But now i added 5oo gb hdd driver with 32 bit vista now my sys boot
lat
and with 64x vista im getting differnt boot scree
my hdd is wd caviar green
i mainly use pinnacle studio and maya
which one is better for me 32 or 6
plz help m

External Hard Drive with e SATA

Does Vista have native support for eSATA, and if so, for which chip sets,
how abouty yours. Or, do you need to install drivers into Vista for the
controller on the motherboard? (Note that under XP you would have had to
install drivers.)

Is the eSATA controller a RAID controller or non-RAID? If RAID, did you
build a RAID array? In some cases it is necessary to go through the
formality of building an array consisting of a single disk. In other cases
the controller will do that for you.

If the drive appears in the BIOS, but not in Vista, look into drivers. If
it does not appear in the BIOS, look into RAID settings. You may need to
press some key combination to getting into the RAID setting, separate from
getting into the BIOS setings. On my ASUS P4S8X the magic keys are "CTRL-F"
for the Fastrak controller..

Vista Media Center remote volume vs Sidewinder X6 keyboard software

Ever since installing an MS Sidewinder X6 keyboard 9 (Intellitype Pro 6.3
software) the volume control on my MC remote has been non-responsive within
Vista Media Center. It still works to control the master volume on the
desktop when Media Center is not running and volume levels within some
other media player software. I was wondering if anyone else has seen this or
is aware of a known compatibility issue between these devices/software.
Above all is there is a fix or workaround for the problem?

The printer drivers have to be installed BEFORE you plug in the USB cable
for the installation to work correctly.

Vista not reporting the correct amount in Sys Properties

I have a HP Pavilion a1110n desktip pc. The specs are: MSI K8MM3-V
motherboard, AMD Sempron 3400+ (2.0 GHz), 1.5 gb of ram, 128 mb NVIDIA
GeForce 5200 agp 8x video card, onboard sound, lan, agare modem, standard
mouse/keyboard, 17" monitor, epson perfection 3490 series, and canon ip1800
usb printer. The problem is that the system properties is showing 12 gb of
memory installed, when the task manager, and the bios show 1.5 gb (1536 mb)
installed. I am wondering if I need to switch out the memory brand and/or
check drivers on my system. I have ran the Memory Diagnostics, looked at the
task manager in the performance tab, resource monitor, and the bios itself.
All these areas show the correct amount of memory. Can you help me figure
this out??

USB mouse via PS2 KVM works when 2nd USM mouse plugged in

Odd behaviour. IOGear PS2 KVM 2-port built in cables.

USB MS optical wheel mouse using its included USB->PS2 adapter.
With Vista x32 Business with SP1, I have no issues. The setup works as
expected.

But with Vista x64 Ultimate with SP1, the mouse via the KVM mouse only
works if I have a 2nd USB mouse plugged directly into the PC while Vista
boots up. After it's booted, I can unplug the extra mouse and the PS2
KVM mouse will keep working. BUT if the USB mouse is not connected when
I boot Vista, then the PS2 KVM mouse does not work.

Fresh install of Vista Ultimate x64 with SP1 and all windows updates. I
want to solve this before I start adding my software.

As of right now, I only know of 3 possible solutions.
1. Leave a spare USB mouse plugged into Vista x64 all the time and wrap
it up behind the PC. Lame, but that's what I am doing right now.
2. Buy a USB based KVM. I really don't want to spend the money on that
since option 1 above is working at no extra cost to me.
3. Buy a different PS2 based KVM to test with. Again, don't want to
spend the money.

Also, seems silly to buy another KVM when the one I have works fine
with x32 Vista and only has this oddity with x64 Vista, yet it does work
in x64 Vista with the spare USB mouse plugged in at boot up and can be
removed after bootup. So it seems there should be a software solution to
solve the issue.

check device manager, if the icon is there or not. If not there the
perform the following steps

1. Check the BIOS to see if the drive gets detected
2. Re-seat the drive once if not detecte

If the drive is getting detected and it has a ! or a ? on it. The
perform the following steps

1. Right click uninstall & then restart the syste

inter partition large file transfer problem

When i try to copy a file >300MB from one location say Local Disk:D
to Local Disk:E the computer freezes.

So as to tackle the problem i tried to analyze the disk writing
characteristic by looking at resource monitor.
i have Windows vista OS. during the transfer it transfers certain
amount of data then the orange light indicating the harddisk level in
the CPU stop to blink ie it remains glowing. then the computer doesnt
respond.

the page.sys located in the Local Disk:C shows the high characteristic
of writing during transfer before freezing.

please save me from reinstalling the vista....
