c&c generals - zero hour - help plz

hi, i have reasontly just bort a new pc, and fancyed putting some ol
times classics on it like zero hour, however i have installed the gam
fine and can play and get online fine however i can;t connect to peopl
very well, some times i get the odd connection here and there, bu
general it goes, connecing players > awaiting probe responce
connection failed :( the only othwer think i noticed as well th
start page where the menu is nothinking is moving or no sound (normaly
have that lil battle between usa and gla in the back ground)

i am running the visa 64 bit on my new pc , and all my other c&c game
run perfectly on the max setting (ra3 / tibern wars e.t.c) i have a b
home hub with the fire wall turned off, and i just use the window
firewall & a anti virus and fire wall called eset smart. but i never ha
a problem with any other games with it and its all allowed through.
have tryed installing it and re installing and checked my settign t
make sure there not blocking it.

When i try to downlaod Age of Empires 2 Age of kinds, it tells me my
installer has stopped working, and exits out of the program. is there some
kind of compatability patch i can find?

Awesome game.

Could probably run it with DOSBox if LSL7 has a dos executeable, but you
said you fixed it already.

I remember the first time I played LSL2 with my Atari ST and MT32, classic
soundtrack, I'll never forget it.

Age of Empires 3 doesnt install in Vista - Help?

Hi all

After many attempts to install AOE3, it only 'installs' a
IDD_CUSTOMEXPRESS. Which of course doesn't play

What I have tried to this point and a few times; Installed Vista SP1
Then I get the compatability issue pop-up. Then I installed the AO
vista patch 1.12.

I dont understand why it 'installs' to use a word then doesnt play
This game does install on other computers so it is not a product ke
issue. It did install on the same computer when it had XP running

Can anyone suggest a solution plz? I am also going to install the othe
exp packs, Asian Dynasties I have yet to play. I purchased these game
retail

I have also tried installing as administrator and the dos promp
command that someone posted here previously to enable admin always o
similar

Thanks in advance~ I just want to play dont care about the on-lin
feature either..

Igfx display driver error

lately i have been getting the igfx error. i have tried severa
different ways of fixing such as uninstalling my driver and then usin
the updated driver download. so far nothing seems to work. its at th
point where its a bit frustrating to deal with my screen going blank
times continuously and then having to watch my computer shut down.
can't play games(world of warcraft) and even some slides are having th
same response. below is my computer information please help..

Dragonomega,

So check it, your system is freaking out with graphics, that should be a
graphic driver issue. So tell us about your system. Is it a brand new
system? Is it a custom built system? Did you upgrade to Vista or is this
a fresh installation?

What hardware do you have, video card, sound card, mobo if you know it,
or if this is a name brand just put down the model number and site any
hardware upgrades.

I would reinstall video drivers, also go to microsoft.com/directx and
find the latest DirectX installer (follow the gamers link), it's called
dxwebsetup.exe. That'll just make sure your DirectX library is up to
date.

Post your system specs, maybe we can figure out what it could be. Might
also try the "Reliability and Performance Monitor" in Vista. Under
Reliability you should have a log of all your applications that have
failed or Vista crashes. Could help you figure out what's going on.

Hey Mark, thanks for your thoughts. A few answers to your questions..

Yeah, it's my first build. I'm a bit green, as you can tell.

As for a virus, well, I would be amazed if I got one so soon. I've ha
fully updated Norton AV on here, and the rig has only been up for abou
12 days...However, I'm willing to try anything.

I would be shocked if it was heat. I'm running a HAF case, and a V8 cp
cooler, with temps that never go above 55* even while gaming. I us
PCPROBE II for my temps.

Hardware...well, you might be right. I've been reading some bad thing
about my Asus MOBO..

My PS is a ultra 1000w, so I should be good on power...However, I pla
on testing that tomorrow.

I personally have not overclocked anything, but my GPU is factor
overclocked...perhaps this is a problem? Maybe it needs more power
Cooling?

Vista Freecell not operating correctly

I tried that method and no joy. I think this problem happened after
downloaded SP 1. If I go back to an earlier date it might fix th
situation but I would still have to reinstall the SP 1. I have back u
discs but they would not have the update either
