know if this was helpful.

Cause: MSXML library may be corrupted and may have to be reinstalled

Step 1. Re-register msxml3.dll

- Click on the Start menu, select Run and type the following:
Regsvr32 %windir%\system32\msxml3.dll

Hopefully, you will see a window popup that says: DllRegisterServer
succeeded in C:\Windows\System32\msxml3.dll is succeeded.

Step 2. Restart your computer and sign into Messenger again
> Can that be done with Windows messenger and if so, how?

Yes, this can be done. If you purchase Communication server such as
http://www.fomine.com/rtc-server.html . You can setup Windows messenger to
use the SIP Communication Service Account. The server software can be ran on
any computer in the network. All clients must point to the server. If you go
to Tools->Options->Accounts->Advanced this where you can type in the IP
address of the computer that has the Server software on it. The only people
that can communicate with each other are the people you have defined in the
server. This allows only communication between your company people.

Hope this helps and hope I explained enough to get you started.

Greetings,

Well, if you just want to copy/paste, you can just open up the archive files directly. To do
that, head over to your My Documents or Documents folder, then My Received Files, then the
folder corresponding to your Windows Live ID e-mail address, plus a number (example.
jonathan392893293782), and the finally the History folder in there. You'll see similarly
named XML files which are the message history. Just double-click on one and it should open
up in your web browser, ready and available for copying.

However, more modern versions of Word (2003 or higher) support XML natively, so you can
actually open up these files in Word itself if you like by right-clicking one, pointing to
Open With and choosing Microsoft Office Word. Note that if you do this, you'll need to
choose the MessageLog.xsl as the schema which will show up as an option on the schema pane
that will appear. Once it's done parsing, you can then go ahead and Save As into a normal
Word doc or whatever you like.

Any particular reason however that you want to convert these into Word format in the first
place?

Not an expert at this, but from my experience. When you Add a contact to your
list it contacts them and notifies them you have added them. So basically all
contacts have added old E-mail address. Well when you changed, there names
are still there for you but since they have not accepted the new ID it is not
showing there online. You might just have to re add there names to your buddy
Well that is my suggestion if that is not the problem or don't work I don't
The error is recorded in the event log and messenger does not display any
I already sent the problem report, the OS is Windows 2008/32

If Windows Live Messenger would ever get out of the Not Responding state it
seems to be stuck in, I would include the version number. But I know it's
not a beta version. Probably 8.5

I am running an up to date XP Pro operating system. The only program I have
any trouble with is Windows Live Messenger. It doesn't consume any real
system resources whether in normal or not responding state. I can use all
other programs.

There is a secondary window behind the Contacts window, that is always there
when it is not responding, but not when it is actually working. Which seems
a rare occasion lately.

Any ideas what the @#$% is happening? Below is the error report send to
Microsoft when I finally just shut the damn thing down:

szAppName : msnmsgr.exe szAppVer : 8.5.1302.1018 szModName : hungapp

szModVer : 0.0.0.0 offset : 00000000
