I've been looking for sometime to get into the 'insider' group of beta
testers, yet no luck so far. My question is, where do they get these beta
testers and what are the requirements.

So far, Windows 7 has been very stable and had good performance marks,
finally persuaded me to leave Windows XP and even more impressive, Ubuntu
8.10 and Linux Mint. However, I don't think I'm just ready to shell out the
(probably) 300$ for the Ultimate final version.

I'd really like to participate in a Windows 7 discussion board/newsgroup,
aside of the public ones riddled with spam and comments posted by '13 year
old fail whalers'.

Is this a "known issue"?

I've posted this to the Windows Live Mail newsgroup and have not
received an answer of any sort.

When I try to import a *.wab file of address-book contacts from OE 6
into the WLM beta, using XP SP3, the following happens:

1. The file imports cleanly and all contacts in OE 6 are present in
WLM.

2. I close WLM beta.

3. The next time I open WLM beta the contacts are gone. I have zero
contacts.

Do I need to do something to *save* the contacts in WLM beta?

Does anyone have insights into this and perhaps a solution?
My experience is that I successfully import a *.wab file -- but as
soon as I close WLM the contacts apparently go into the bit bucket and
WLM tells me I have no contacts at all, the next time I open it.

*.csv files won't import at all.

Curious...

My system (WinXPSP2) generates 0 byte files for some reason. The files are
the MS Office or PDF files that are associated with these 0 byte files are
