failed activation

I need help with vista

i downloaded and installed windows vista RC1, using the serial key that
microsoft's page provided me. installation finished without a hitch, but
after i tried to log in, it said that in needed to be activated. i dont have
a modem right now (it fried), so i called the provided number and gave the
activation number on my screen. i then typed in the number i was given. i
didnt get any errors while typing in the activation key, but when i clicked
ok, it said the key was invalid. i tried it all again, got the exact same
numbers, got the exact same respones. how do i sucessfully activate vista?

Use the telephone option again and complete the activation that way..

when its asking for the product key keep hitting 0 that will prompt you to
talk to a real live person
