Failure to connect

I made the change to RC1 and Office 2007 on a clean hard drive. Now I cannot
connect to the internet completely. Sound odd? It gets more interesting.
While I cannot get to sites like msn and google at all (I get failure to
connect statements), I can get to EBay -- or atleast two levels down --
before fore connection failure.

So far I have uninstalled and reinstalled Java because I rememered that this
worked when I installed IE7 on my xp pro (sp2) system. However, it didn't
work this time.

In addition, I can download emails from my internet serivce provider but not
msn and hotmail.

There's something that I'm missing, but I don't know what. Anny suggestions?

Do you have the program Fresh Download installed by any chance? If so it is
most likely the culprit. I found out it was responsible for killing Internet
Explorer on my system after months of trying to figure out the problem. I
was able to connect to secure sites using IE, but nothing else.
