I am having trouble with Vista going into Fast Sleep unexpectedly. This is
the situation:
1. I have an APC Battery Backup
2. It connects to my Vista desktop via USB
3. Sometimes when other USB devices turn on, Vista immediately goes into
Fast Sleep mode.
4. This does not ever occur if the USB from the battery back-up is unplugged.
5. This occurs whether the APC drivers are enabled or not.
So, for some reason when a USB attached device powers-up, the battery backup
does something which Vista interrupts as "battery is dead, power down." The
support people at APC have no solution.
The Power setting are set to “High Performance” with “Turn off the display”
and “Put the computer to sleep” set to “Never”
