Hi Rico,This may be due to a networking software (Cisco VPN client or other)
installed. It modifies the GinaDLL entry in registry and disables FUS and
Welcome Screen.
Use MVP Doug Knox's utility to fix the Welcome screen.

[Fix Logon/Restore Welcome Screen]. This should reset the default GINA in
registry.

Fast User Switching
Until recently I could use this facility. However now when I try toswitch from one user to another my screen goes blank and my PC shuts
down, If turn off fast user everything works OK I just have to log off
and log on.
I am using XP Home + SP2 + latest updates.
Can anybody help.

Mick,We suddenly have the same problem. We are set up with automatic updates and
running same XP Home + SP2 + latest updates.... It's
frustrating....Hopefully microsoft is monitoring newsgroup and maybe one of
the updates messed up capability. Anyone know how to fix??? If we reinstall
operating system what data will be lost?

Fast User Switching
I have Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004...my display settings are messedup when I got into Graphic Properties...i only have two choices, 800 X 600
and 1024 X 768. So, how can I get back my standard six choices?
