I'm making some assumptions here with your setup, but..
Unfortunately, the PC has to answer the call before it can tell if it is a
fax or voice call. Many modems have utilities which will then allow the PC
to act as a phone if it does not detect a fax, and often hand off the call
to a telephone attached to the modem.
If you have other telephones on the same line in the house, these will be
pretty useless unless you can answer them before the PC does !!
So, you could connect all the phones in your house to the "back" of the PC.
However, be aware that regular voice callers will hear the ringing tone
twice, with a pause (as the PC answers, decides there's no fax coming, and
then rings the other phones) - which is wierd.
If you receive loads of faxes, your best bet is to get another line & have a
dedicated number.
If you only receive faxes occasionaly, set PC to manual receive and ask
senders to call you when they're about to send.
Hope this helps - well, I guess it doesn't !!
