FBA errors ?

Posted: 08-30-2004, 07:49 AM
Hello out there

I have build an XPE image with the evaluation copy of the XPE TD system. The
image works OK.
Then I have purchased the licenced TD and tries to remake the same image -
this fails in FBA.
The FBA gives me an error box:

FBA
SaveHive (.DEFAULT) failed
OK

FBA behaves abnormal, the system restarts a couple of times, and then it
locks with a window "Windows XP"

Is it important to install ALL QFE's - I have only installed those concerned
with the functions I am using ?

What can I do ? and what can be wrong ?

brgds

Dear Carl,

Try to add more memory.

If the error message still shows, you can check the fbalog file.

Dear Bing

My image was running OK when I used the evaluation copy of the XPE TD, so
more memory ??

Where do find the fbalog, and where can I find information about decoding
the contents of the fbalog ?

brgds

The fba log is located in ?:\windows\fba\fba.log
What i think is, that your partitionsize is to small, i've got the same
error and my partition size was to small.

When you installed your licensed XPe development kit, did you completely
remove all parts of the evaluation dev. kit, including the component
database? Unfortunately, it has to be done, and the QFEs need to be
reinstalled as well. I prefer to install all of the available QFEs, and I
download and install them one at a time and in chronological order (oldest
first).

hello

You are right - the problem is that my image is 185 MByte and my partition
is 200 Mbyte.
That seem to be insufficient. I chose to compress the WINDOWS folder which
gave me 80 MByte free space.
Then the FBA runs OK

Thanks

brgds

Carl Johan
