Just delete the file and send it to the Recycle Bin. Xp might be looking
for a Ftp program. Do you have one?

I am not sure if there is an FTP program on my laptop. I
did have one on my other computer, but I don't recall
ever downloading one on here. OK. I'll just delete
it.
Thanks.

This file is due to a virus - W32.Spybot.worm
(http://securityresponse.symantec.com...ybot.worm.html)

It is unclear at this time what that association is, but it should be
removed. My own theory is that it is nothing more than a data file
for ftp connections. I suspect that Spybot may be a test release for
a virus that will ultimately use infected computers as ftp servers.
This is becoming more and more common.

The long and short of it is, delete the file - it was dropped by a
virus. Upddate your NAV and run another scan to make sure you don't
have a current Spybot infection. Check for viral entries in your
startup - known entries for Spybot are as follows:
msconfig or msconfig32 loading from the system folder rather than
pchealth folder
iexplore loading from the system folder rather than from the windows
or winnt folder
explorer loading from the system folder rather than from the windows
or winnt folder
explored loading at startup from the system folder
any 10 letter random file name (ex: akdoleifvudej.exe) loading from
startup.

These are all indicators fo of a spybot infection, and can be removed
by following the instructions here:
http://securityresponse.symantec.com...ybot.worm.html
