| I have 3 identical Windows Vista (Business) desktop computers on a wireless network in a small business. I have created a new folder in the "Public" folders in which there resides a file to which I want the other two computers to connect. From each of the other two computers, I can see the "Public" folders containing all of the default folders (Public Documents, etc.), but can't see the new folder I have created. I have all file sharing turned on. Each of the computers is logged on with the same administrative user and password. The Windows firewall is disabled and no other firewall is present. I have rebooted each of the computers after the new folder was created, but can still not see that folder from the remote computers. I have looked in the Microsoft help files and verified the method for sharing files and folders and have complied with each of them. Can anyone tell me why the new folder does not show up in the "Public" folders on the "server" machine? I have also double-checked the shared settings for the new folder and file and have it set for "Everyone" with "Full Control". Thanks for any help you can give me. | Guest

| I have determined the problem. All three machines had the same name and were only seeing themselves on the network. The problem now is trying to set up a Linksys router to connect the three computers and a laser printer. All the computers can see the printer, but not each other ... brick wall. | it could be the name resolution issue. If turn off the firewall, can you ping each other by IP? Or check the name resolution link in this search result, Vista troubleshootingTroubleshooting Vista Remote Access Issues ... Networking between Vista and other Windows OS ...
