| Is your PC part of a domain? If yes ask your domain administrator for help (he MIGHT be able to help you). If your PC is not part of a domain and you haven't exported EFS certificate with which you encrypted your files, they are unfortunately as good as gone. | reboot into safe mode - the security tab becomes visable for properties on files and folders, you can setup better permissions this way. Quote:

search for File Permissions. You must be NTFS.. No domain was ever required to define file and directory permissions on a machine. | In Home the Security dialog is only available in properties of NTFS objects when you are in a F8 safe mode boot. In a normal boot you can use the cacls command at cmd prompt. cacls /? gives syntax info. -- Roger Abell Microsoft MVP (Windows Server System: Security) MCSE (W2k3,W2k,Nt4) MCDBA "mark" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:09be01c39e12$ec6b22b0$a501280a@phx.gbl...
