File will not delete what is it?

I have a question and wouild like to see if anyone can
tell me what I have or don't have. I am running xp pro. I
have found that a file or files in my system folder will
cause my nav 2003 not to run a scan. The file is under the
system folder (system/viewers). I this file folder even
needed. There are a couple of files that say they do not
have and info..0 bytes and show up as a sting of
garbage/symbols. I tred to move them to a folder, copy
them, delete them just something so that the virus scan
will work. It comes back asnd says access denied. Acn not
even move the folder. I also have in my recyle bin 4 files
of something that show up as garbage/symbols that will not
delete. When I open the recycle bin there is nothing
listed. Any thoughts on what I may or may not have.
