filter drivers

I have a Sony digital camera that was working just fine
in the USB port. When I went to use it recently, I get
an error message..."One of the filter drivers installed
for this device is invalid." Have tried System Restore,
contacted IBM (maker of the computer) and the USB ports
are working as the printer works in these ports. Have
uninstalled and re-installed the USB port drivers, but
still get the same error message. Anyone have any ideas
of where to go from here. I am not saavy of a compuer
person.
