Firewire (IEEE1394) Network?

Is it possible to setup a firewire network under vista? Under vista there is
no network device for my firewire interface. But the firewire controller is
recognized (driver, working). Under xp i could simply setup a network to
connect my computer with my laptop over the fast firewire interface.
