Fixing MM2

Posted: 06-03-2004, 01:21 AM
Symptom: still photos can be viewed in preview pane from
the collection, but not from the film strip. Playing the
video does not display the movie made of still photos.
HOWEVER rendering the video will create the movie
successfully.

I've posted here before and no one could get me past this
problem. It's been about 6 months I guess, and I still
haven't been able to get MM2 working. I'm hoping someone
has a brain-wave now.

I've tried everything, including completely deleting the
contents of the Movie Maker folder, cleaning out the
registry, running MM1 again, then reinstalling MM2,
downloading the professional windows media codecs for
developers, etc. I'm extremely competent troubleshooting
and working with Windows.

Any one feel a suggestion coming on?

Could it be a CODEC conflict? You can find info
on the subject at www.papajohn.org and you can
download a utility that renames problem CODECs
at www.the-kellys.org.
