Hi,

I hope someone can fix this one. flash drives won't showup automatic any
more, it'll detect it and ask for software to install it...of course, xp pro
comes with usb driver but it won't be able to find anything....install
failed. in device mgr, it showed up under 'other devices' with yellow ? mark
on it...I was told there is no way to fix it unless reload os. I also did
search on web by jumpdrive2 and looks like there are some drivers for it but
I don't how good they are.

help, please.

Here are a couple of options that you might want to try.

1. Download and install TweakUI from Microsoft. TweakUI is available here.

Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d...powertoys.mspx

Direct Download of TweakUI
http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...ertoySetup.exe

Once the program is installed, go to Start -> All Programs -> Powertoys for
Windows XP -> TweakUI.
In TweakUI, click on Taskbar and Start Menu.
In the right hand pane, put a check mark in the box next to "Enable balloon
tips".
Click OK.

2. Run the script on line 11, left hand column from this web site.

Note: Keep in mind that enabling balloon tips will result in more than just
the "Safe to Remove Hardware" message being displayed.

Good luck
